A sticker knows which pole it belongs on. An overrun shirt finds the body it was made for — somehow. A tape dub with someone else's handwriting on the label, a name you can't read, a track listing in pencil. It sat in a bag for six months before it found you. Or you found it. The distinction gets blurry after a while. Most things made to be held eventually are.
